NSF Innovation-Corps

Meharry is a partner in the National Science Foundation (NSF)-funded “Southeastern Health Innovation Engine in Learning and Discovery” (SHIELD) initiative.

The Principal Investigators are Dr. Padma Raghavan (Vanderbilt University), Dr. Anil Shanker (MMC), Dr. Quincy Quick (Tennessee State University), and Dr. Robert Davis (University of Tennessee Health Science C), and Dr. Gardner (University of Louisville).

As part of this initiative, the Phase I Innovation-Corps was awarded  $15,000,000(2022 – 2027). In addition to Dr. Shanker, the Meharry team includes Dr. Aramandla Ramesh (Co-investigator), and Dr. Pius Nde (Faculty lead).

The major goal of this initiative is to foster an entrepreneurial scientific community with a focus on inclusive innovation and shared prosperity.
